Lights Interaction BV
Lights Interaction Agro b.v. was set up in December 2002 following Philips Lighting’s decision to withdraw from the market for assimilation lighting luminaires for use in Glasshouse Horticulture. Thus although Lights Interaction Agro b.v. is a young company, it has a great deal of experience in assimilation lighting, since the majority of its employees have worked in Philips for long periods of time. Our company actively helps clients in their efforts to use assimilation lighting in a judicious manner through the development of innovative products and services. The combination of experienced employees and young graduate engineers ensures a well-balanced talent pool that makes possible the development of innovative assimilation-lighting products for Glasshouse Horticulture with a combination of youthful vigour and a strong scientific foundation. The concepts of creativity, innovativeness and dynamics have a high priority within the company.
Collaboration and knowledge
In order to be able to adapt to changing customer preferences in the field of lighting, changing cultivation techniques, the additional requirements imposed by the increasing importance of the environment, as well as advances in technology, we keep close track of the developments in the field - but it does not end there. Employees of Lights Interaction Agro b.v. participate in study groups that deal not only with the specific problems of existing greenhouses, but the developments of the greenhouses of the future as well. Obviously, this is done in consultation with technical institutes, horticultural experts, suppliers, specialist horticultural installers and other consultants from specific areas of expertise. Special attention is paid to safety. This relates not only to safe working with lighting fixtures by the grower, but also the minimisation of the risk of consequential damage in case of a defect in a lighting fixture.
More light; greater growth and a better quality horticultural product
It is true that the proper cultivation of plants requires good pot soil, substrate, nutrition, insecticides, air humidity, temperature and the cultivation skills of the grower. The list is however not complete without lighting, because nothing can grow without light. The plant uses light energy to synthesise the carbohydrates it requires to survive and grow, from the water, inorganic substances and carbon dioxide. This is known as the process of photosynthesis. And lighting is one thing we know a great deal about.
Extensive research has shown that the growth light required by a plant is different to that required by humans. The currently accepted unit for growth light is µmol/m2.s. The more natural the growth light - provided it is in the correct direction - the better is the effect on the plants. And that is another area we know a great deal about.
Manufacturers of high-quality luminaires:
The use of high-quality materials, the sophisticated, patented reflector design - in a luminaire of the smallest possible size. This, in short, is the luminaire that blocks the minimum possible daylight during the day and provides the maximum amount of light in the most efficient manner during its lighting function.
For this, we work only with suppliers who share our ‘High Quality’ philosophy. We work closely with our component suppliers in order to achieve the best possible results. Many Quality tests are built into the production processes in order to guarantee that you will receive the Quality product that you expect.
